The Monticello MN real estate market is an ideal place to live for many reasons. One of the things that I enjoy about this moderately sized community is the many parks that are available within walking distance from my home. In all, Monticello has 24 parks that are operated by the town’s Parks and Recreation Department. My favorite park is Pioneer Park because of its beautiful landscaping and areas for the kids to run around and play. But some of the other parks include River Mill Park, Hunters Crossing, Hillcrest Park and several others. For a truly unique event, you can even visit the Mississippi Drive Swan Park and see hundreds of Trumpeter Swans during the winter season.
I also like that the town encourages volunteerism. In fact, my high school aged son participated in the Help Save Our Environment Project and received a $500 scholarship to put towards college.
